“Mets Hayk” (Greater Armenia) is the historical name of the ancient Armenian state that existed on the Armenian Highlands from ancient times through the Middle Ages. It covered vast territories and was an important political, cultural, and trade center of the region.

Mets Hayk played a key role in the formation of Armenian statehood, language, and culture, and also became the foundation for subsequent Armenian kingdoms and dynasties.
